A couple of days ago i was listening to power106 and they were talking about how a couple of guys managed to hack into the PBS website. Once they got in they posted an article stating that tupac was a live and well and that he was living in New Zealand. The hacker group called “LulzSec” had previously hacked into Sony BMG’s Japanese website and claim they are planning on a second hack. When i think and read about this it kind of scares me to know that people are able to hack into big name companies it just shows us that they are just as able to get into our own accounts whether it is facebook, email, or even online banking accounts. Is there a way to stop people from hacking?
Botox Mom
20 MaySo a couple of days ago there was a mothere who gave her daughter botox so she could look better for the beauty pagents that she goes. When I first read about it i was sooo shocked. Who gives their 8 year old daughter botox?! Anyways yesturday I saw from TMZ that the whole thing was actually fake! The Sun, a British tabloid, paid the mom $200 to play the part of an article called “I give my 8-year old daughter botox”. After the story was published, Good Morning America and Inside Edition contacted the mother and offered her $10,000 to appear on their shows. This just shows you what people would do for money. Whether it be a small or large amount. I guess I am glad that she came foward and told the truth about what reall happend. And that also shows you what the media will do to make a story. It seemed like they were desperate to write a story to attract the people, in the end they did.
White house poetry jam
13 MayMay 11th, 2011, The white house hosted a “white house poerty jam”. President obama and his wife Michelle Obama invited several poets to the white house one of those people was Lonnie Rashid Lynn also known as Common. Common is a well known rapper who has been around for a while now. Anyways, so I was listening to amp radio on the way to school and Carson Daily was talking about this event anad how Fox 11 news and Sarah Palin made a big deal about inviting Common to the white house. They claimed that Common is a “thug” and a “cop killer”. For anyone who listens to his music this is so not true. Common’s lyrics are about love, and changing the world, and just an overall postive meaning toward life. The reason they made these statements about him was that back in 2004 he had a song called “A Letter to the Law” and his lyrics read ”Burn a Bush cos’ for peace he no push no button, Killing over oil and grease, No weapons of destruction, How can we follow a leader when this a corrupt one.” To me this is called freedom of speech. And just hearing the way they made him seem got me upset because as a fan i know its not ture and its only making themselves seem oblivious.
“Obama got Osama”
7 MayThe big news this week was the death of Osama Bin Laden. Sunday May 1st, a group of navy seals went into Osama’s house and had a firefight whch ended in his death. The first time i heard of this news was on facebook. I was at a resturant with my family and went on facebook and saw my friends status that president obama had important news to deliver at 7:45. Minutes after that my brother told me the Osama was dead and my whole news all on facebook was full of this news. At that time the resturant had a tv and they were showing Obama’s speech where the headlines read “Osama is dead”, everyone in the restuarant were surprised and confused. Its amazing how news spread so quickly, before the president made his speech a good amount of people new about this.
So right when i heard this news it took a while for it to sink in. The next day after watching the news and reading some articles it got me thinking that yeah we got this guy but does that make our country that more safe. In my head im thinking that maybe people in Al Quida will retaliate and plan something to get back at the US. We’ll see.
The Royal Wedding
29 AprSo Prince Williams and his fiance Catherine Middleton are getting married this Friday. For the past couple of weeks and even months now, i’ve been hearing a lot about it. Even at my job people are comming in and asking for anything that has to do with the wedding. The only thing we sell that relates to the wedding is a lifesize cutout of the couple. People tell me that they are having a party for their wedding. In my head im lauging because it is just so random to have a party for them. But anyways its interesting to see how people are getting hyped up about this. The other day i was on the yahoo.com homepage and there was an article on “how to stay up” and not fall asleep because the wedding will be aired at 3 a.m. I’m honestly happy for the couple but kind of find it funny to see all this excitment and all these merchandise being made. People are wondering how her dress is going to be, how much the wedding is going to cost and all these other questions. Maybe if i were living over there I’d be more interested and excited

Do video games cause violence for kids?
23 AprSo today I’m going to talk about a topic that has been going around for a while now, whether or not kida are influenced by the video games they play. In my opinion I think it all deepends on how the parents raise their kids and the enviornment they are living in. I remmeber when my brother and I got the nintendo 64 and the first game we got was a WWE Wrestling game. I would say I was in 2nd grade and my brother in 1st. You would think that us being so young, the game would have an effect of us but it really didn’t. I can honestly say my parents raised us well, we lived in a good neighborhood, went to a private school and were just happy kids. But if you take a look at a kids living in a poor neighborhood, maybe having problems in school or with this family then yes maybe the games he/she play will have a big effect on them. And its the parents who buy the games for their kids so they should think about the outcomes before they make their decison.
80s muisic vs. music today
8 AprI have heard a lot of people complaining about the music that is being made today. Especially hip hop and rap music. Several people complain that the hip hop muisc was way better in the 80s and 90s and that the hip hop to day is “lame”. I kind of have to disagree with them. Obviously the music we grew up with is going to have a big effect on us. Music in general is going to evolve and change over time. Same with clothes and tv shows. Nothing will ever be the same because after a while it will get boring. There are producers coming out with new beats and new artist making new songs and some incorporate different genres to make a really great song so listen and dance to. Yeah its cool to switch off every now and then and reminisce on the music in the past. But I don’t think its okay to hate on muisc today and saying “hip hop is dead”. I don’t see you out there making beats and selling records.
